Plus One and Another!
I woke up this morning and just like last time decided something told me we were having a baby. Why is it that I get this feeling at 5am in the morning?? So I fumbled around in the dark through the vanity drawers and found the test I had.
It take a mere three seconds for a pregnancy test to tell you whether your life is about to get just that much more amazing but boy at that hour it feels like a long three seconds. I sat there with my eyes closed thanking God for the beauty of life. Whether it was positive or not I was feeling so grateful for the family I have and very much excited that we may be welcoming another beautiful creation into our world where there will always be room for one more.
Opening my eyes and adjusting to the light….. I I ….. two beautiful lines. How many women have yearned for two lines and only got one or I guess plenty have yearned for one and got two. Two lines mean HELLO BABY! Welcome baby to the beautiful place, warm and cozy known as my womb! Settle in. Make yourself at home. Your big sister Abbey has been there done that and it seemed to agree with her. Liked it so much did she that she stayed an extra 9days. Feel free to turn up when you’re ‘meant to’.
So as the sun was preparing to get up I was slipping back into bed. This time unlike last I didn’t wake Ryan but lay there and cherished the moment just for myself. Something that’s precious about being a mum is being first to know about new life. Needless to say I didn’t get much sleep after that.
Before I knew it Abbey was awake and calling for a play mate. She joined us in bed and proceed to let out excited squeals and crawl all over us. I told Ryan she was excited that she was going to be a big sister! And the biggest most beautiful Monastra smile spread across his face and your dad started falling in love with you too.
That whole day so many wonderful exciting thoughts went through our minds along with resolutions to find the right job and the right place to call home so that we can welcome you in comfort and not locumming limbo.
P.S I’ve been meaning to post this for a couple of weeks now and haven’t got round to it. We’re now 14weeks pregnant and I’ve been feeling fine. The odd bought of morning nausea which is not always pleasant but nothing debilitating. I was praying for that wondering how I would get on if I was really sick and having Abbey to care for an play with.
Ryan has secured a contract in Cairns and so we’re moving up there at the end of June. It will be great to be near my sister and brother in law and Cairns in a nice city.
Once we’re there I’ll be almost 20 weeks so we’ll find a doctor and get a scan done. We’re not going to find out the sex this time. It will be great to have a surprise.

Hi, I just wanted to say congratulations! I've been reading your blog for a while as we also have a girl, born last year in June. We were also living in the UK and have recently moved back to Australia. Good luck with the second one!
Thanks Madeline. I've often wondered how many random people read my blog. I read other random peoples blogs and really enjoy it. Where are you in Aus and do you have a blog??
We're in Newcastle and the blog is here: http://madanddave.typepad.com/wee_lil
