There's blogging to be done!
Goodness I hadn't realised that I hadn't blogged anything since July! It's been almost two months since I blogged last. Ironically the last blog was about how well Abbey was doing at taking the bottle... well now she won't take it at all. Argh!
So what's been happening in the life of our little Abbey.
Now 2 months old we think (according to the airport scales with Ryan holding her) she weighs 5.5kg (that's 12lb 2oz). We'll get the official weight when we go to the doctors on Monday. I was too busy before we went away to get her weighed and having been away for three weeks it's now been over 5 weeks since she was last weighed. As well as getting weighed on Monday we will both have a check-up and Abbey will get given her first dose of immunisation. I'm praying that she will take it well and not be too unsettled with it. I'm glad that none of us remember when we got our jabs as infants because I'm not looking forward to the upset and horrified eyes that may stare back at me after I hand her over for the nurse to stick her. So I'll let you know how it goes.
As I mentioned we have been away for three weeks and it has been amazing to see the changes that have occurred in Abbey during that time. Firstly she has grown so much. On the days when we needed to carry her more our arms were starting to ache. Just before we left I noticed that she had started focusing more and was often looking up at her mobile watching with interest as it turned above her head. She was also starting to follow me if i moved slowly from one side to another in front of her. Now she is smiling at our familiar faces and it really is heart warming when your child give you a beaming grin when you pick her up after her sleeps or as you poke your tongue out at her while you change her nappy. On two occasions we have almost had a giggle out of her. She has let out a little chuckle but it has yet to develop into a full blown giggle - something to look forward to!
Abbey is very expressive in her eyes. She has beautiful big eyes and they really light up when she's happy and she does this cute little thing with her eye bows. She has started crying tears now too. It's cute how her eyelashes get all stuck together with the wet tears.
She's fast growing out of her clothes and I am trying to get her into each outfit at least once before she grows out of them. As the grandmas found out on their visit to us Abbey has more than enough clothes to get through. Friends and family have been so generous she has simply gorgeous clothes.
So here's our latest family portrait.
